The Arts Council England (ACE) - Let’s Create Jubilee Fund
The Arts Council England (ACE) has announced the establishment of its Let's Create Jubilee Fund for creative events to take place to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.
This may be of interest to community groups operating in your Parishes, as they can apply for between £750 and £10,000 to produce events that highlight their ideas and creativity. Successful applicants will be expected to show how they will work collaboratively with artists and cultural organisations to deliver their aspirations. More information can be found at: https://www.artscouncil.org.uk/our-open-funds/let%E2%80%99s-create-jubilee-fund .
The UK Community Foundation will administer the fund on ACE's behalf and will provide more information and guidance in early December prior to their application portal opening in January 2022.
NEDDC - Community Action Grants
With regard to the celebrations that will mark Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee in 2022, NEDDC is pleased to confirm that temporary road closure fees will be waived for Jubilee celebration events. Please follow the link for the process in how to apply for a closure: https://www.ne-derbyshire.gov.uk/licensing/temporary-road-closure-car-park-closure .
NEDDC is also promoting the Queen's Green Canopy (QGC), a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Everyone across the UK is being invited to plant trees from October 2021, when the tree planting season begins, through to the end of the Jubilee year in 2022.
Free tree packs are available from The Woodlands Trust for schools and community groups who have permission from legal landowners to plant trees on their land. For more information please visit: https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/plant-trees/schools-and-communities .
Recognising the opportunity to enhance the natural environment and the wellbeing benefits of positive social interaction, the NEDDC Community Action Grant (CAG) will also consider applications from community-led groups to purchase additional trees or official commemorative plaques, as well as support Jubilee celebration events open to the local community.
CAG funding is open to formally constituted groups and non-constituted groups who are sponsored by an organisation who will act on their behalf, such as a Town or Parish Council or other constituted group. The CAG scheme is not open to businesses or projects directly delivered by Parish and Town Councils.
