Illegal Encampment Taskforce update 6 March 2023

Further to the Taskforce meeting on 3 March, chaired by the Police and Crime Commissioner, we can now confirm the travellers have left the site at The Avenue, Wingerworth.

Assisted by Derbyshire Police and partners, the travellers vacated on Sunday 5 March. The area has been secured and The Land Trust have begun the process of clearing up the site. The car park will remain closed and the land owner will be working to improve security at the site to reassure residents moving forward.
