At the July meeting of the Council, it was resolved to approve an overspend on the project of £19,887 (this is for unforseen elements which are essential to the structure of the building and in order for the project to pass building control, or to provide longevity to the build). This will also ensure that we are providing a building that is fit for purpose for the whole community for the long term.

Council did raise concerns about the increased costs and requested that the potential points of failure in these risks not being identified earlier in the process, and this is being investigated.
